The new generation of SIP mower combinations is designed to meet the needs of large farms, agribusinesses and service providers. The DISC HD D double mower combinations with conveyor belts and telescopic working width adjustment are characterised by their well-thought-out drive system and their adaptation to different mowing conditions.
Innovative driveline system
The innovative driveline system offers a large working width of up to 11.00 m and a compact transport height and width. It has an integrated overload notification system OMS – Overload Monitoring System.
It consists of an input PTO shaft, an input PTO shaft with slip and free-running clutch, a double telescopic PTO shaft, an angle drive and a double cross-joint. Slip clutches allow a soft start and reduce wear on the tractor and the machine. Safety clutches and an OMS system ensure constant monitoring of the operation via sensors and prevent damage to the cutter bar. Due to the lower axle angles on the PTO shafts, the driveline allows quiet, vibration-free running, thus extending the life of the machine. It also improves power efficiency at start-up and when running. Access to the driveline components is simple, allowing easy and quick maintenance, which is kept to a minimum also thanks to the extended lubrication intervals.

Durable cutter bar
The cutter bar is welded and made of high-strength alloy steel, which is extremely load-bearing and easy to maintain. The soft mounting of the cutter bar with rubber dampers reduces the transmission of force to the frame of the cutter bar in the event of an impact or collision. Like all SIP mowers, the new generation also includes a disc drive protection system DDSS. This system consists of 3 brass pins which break in the event of a severe impact or overload of the disc. The shear of the brass pins absorbs the force, leaving the cutter bar intact andallowing the mowing operation to continue uninterrupted. All elements of the cutter bar are easily accessible, allowing quick and easy maintenance of the machine.
Telescopic cutter bar control allows the cutter bar overlapping to be adjusted according to the width of the front mower from 3.0 to 3.5 m. This is particularly convenient when mowing on a curve or when avoiding an obstacle and when mowing on a slope. Telescopic adjustment also ensures optimum adjustment of the working width and the width of the swath according to the amount of forage and the width of the pick-up device.

Adapting to users’ needs
The new generation of DISC HD D SIP mower combinations offers several different configurations. The DISC HD 1000 D is available with a steel finger conditioner and offers working widths from 9.20 to 10.20 m. The width of the row can be adjusted from 1.70 to 2.50 m. It has 16 discs (2×8) which are rotating in combination. The capacity of this model is 15 ha/h. The weight of the DISC HD 1000 D model with the conditioner and without the belts is 3740 kg, requiring a tractor with a minimum of 150 kW/200 HP. If the belts are added, the weight is 4350 kg and a more powerful tractor is needed to operate it, from 180 kW/250 HP onwards.
The DISC HD 1100 D is also available with a conditioner and offers a working width of 10.00 to 11.10 m. This model has 18 discs. The weight of this machine is 3927 kg, in this case conveyor belts are not available.

Wide range of equipment for specific needs
The mower is equipped with additional central skids as standard. As an additional equipment, 20mm and 40mm skids are available for even higher cut and cones for accelerated forage flow to the conveyor belt. In the case of belts, there is an option of swath curtain to give a better swath shape. And also swath accelerator rollers are available and shall be fitted on the inner part of the belts. Their function is to accelerate the flow of the forage from the belts, thus allowing the optimum shape of the swath or making the swath narrower. Additional equipment also includes LED working lights, which ensure good visibility during mowing, even in low visibility conditions.

Conveyor belts for faster forage harvesting
The use of conveyor belts allows for up to 60% faster harvesting of the forage and reduces dry matter losses and ash input into the swath. The belts are equipped with plastic slats and driven via a steel roller for quiet operation. The conveyor belt is driven by tractor hydraulics via a hydraulic motor on the belt. The forage flow at a rate of up to 40 l/min is directed via the conditioner to the conveyor, which offers a maximum swath width of up to 3.00 m.
During operation, the both belts can be raised or lowered together, with the belt automatically switching off when raised. Either the left or the right belt can be used, thus adapting the deposition of the swaths and reducing the following passes of the picking devices. A hydraulic central swath curtain is also available for a more uniform swath shape.

Different types of conditioners
There are currently two types of conditioners available, the steel finger conditioner and the roller rubber conditioner. For areas with mainly grasses and also grass-clover mixtures, we recommend a conditioner with flexible steel fingers. This conditioner damages the epidermis of the plants and shreds the stems, allowing extremely rapid wilting.
For conditioning alfalfa and clover, it may be possible to choose a conditioner with two rubber profiled rollers. The rollers are designed to squeeze the stems of the plants, thus opening them lengthways and leaving the delicate leaves intact.

Hydraulic system for optimum performance
In addition to an innovative drive system, the new generation of SIP mower combinations also features an advanced hydraulic system. The robust 3-point linkage with a hydropneumatic suspension system (HPS) offers excellent response to changes in terrain. The mower’s hydraulic relief is separate for the left and right side and is easily adjusted and operated from the tractor.
In the event of a collision, the cutter bars are also hydraulically protected by the Hydraulic Collision Safety System (HCSS). The cutter bars will move backwards and upwards and then return to their original working position in the case of a collision with an obstacle.
The hydraulic system is operated via a 1x double-acting (1DA) hydraulic connection on models without belts, while in the case of belts, a 2x double-acting (2DA) hydraulic connection is required.

Operation, transport and storage
The advanced Select Control control unit is available to operate the mower. The mower can also be controlled via an ISOBUS terminal.
The transport length of both models is 2.80 m, the transport width is 2.90 m and the transport height is 4.00 m. With a patented mechanical safety guard during transport, which is activated automatically, it offers exceptional safety during transport and storage.
