HISTORY
The beginnings of SIP go back to the year of 1954. In those days the Agroservice workshop hall performed the maintenance and services for agricultural machinery. Step by step the production of agricultural machinery started to ran parallel with the above mentioned activities.
In late 1967 the name Agroservice was transformed into SIP. Within the next two years many significant changes occurred. The result was that SIP’s core business became production of agricultural machinery only.
1970’s were the golden ages our company. We invested into the process equipment and expanded the manufacturing surfaces. The R&D department was formed and, together with acquisition of licensees, a line of new products was developed. This was the base for continuous process of development for new products which are based on our knowledge and experiences.
RAKE SONČEK, 1967
In 1958 Mr. Albin Rehar joined the Agroservis, and from his previous job in the foundry factory, he brought many unfulfilled ideas. Under his leadership in 1961, Agroservis changed its industry from service to production. Production of hop-harvesting machines brought 130 new jobs. Later, in 1967 Agroservis was renamed SIP. In the same year was introduced the first hay harvesting machine – rake Sonček.
BELT RAKE FAVORIT 220, 1968
In 1963 the company signed a long-term production cooperation contract with Austrian company, enabling transition to industrial production. The other important cooperation agreement was signed with the Swiss company.
Industrial serial production of belt rakes and self-loading wagons begins.
LOADING WAGONS, 1971
The first loading wagon was produced in 1971 and became the most representative SIP product in the 1970s. Many of these are in use even today.
FIRST PRODUCTION HALL, 1973
The original workshop was soon no longer sufficient for the transformed and enlarged production range. As a result, in 1973 a new production hall measuring 8400 m2 was built. The number of employees in 1973 was close to 300.
FIRST DRUM MOWER, 1975
In the first decade on the market SIP also obtained a Piet Zweegers licence for drum mower and silage combines production.
The first drum mower was presented in1975.
ROTARY RAKE, 1979
SIP’s rotary rake VZ 280 was launched in 1979. It was the first rake equipped with an innovative solution for protecting spring tines against loss.
PATENTED SIDE DELIVERY RAKE, 1982
In 1982, SIP patented the first side delivery double rotary rake on the market.
SIDE MOWER BRK 2050
The new side mower BRK 2050 with
2-metre working width at Novi Sad
fair in Serbia in 1983.
FIRST MOWER WITH CONDITIONER, 1987
The development of side-mounted rotary mowers began in the 1980s, and in 1987 was developed the first rotary mower with conditioner RKG 1650.
FIRST REBRANDING, 1990
The first rebranding took place in the 1990s. The SIP began to use in its logo a detail describing the Myth of Zeus and Europe, which was associated with the discovery of the remains of a Roman necropolis in Šempeter.
The transformation of the production program and the sale expansion into world markets is underway.
Some series of machines were developed in green color at the time, but in the end, red still prevailed, becoming the company’s distinctive color.
ROTARY TEDDER SPIDER WITH 6 ROTORS, 2000
At the turn of the millennium, SIP presents new and innovative solutions for mowing, spreading, and raking.
The machines become larger and reach a working width of 8 m.
The 6 rotor tedder SPIDER 800 for 8 metre of working width was released in 2000.
INNOVATIVE RAKING SOLUTIONS, 2004
In 2004, SIP got a patent for a tandem chassis for single- and two-rotor rakes, which enabled better adaptation to the ground.
In the same year, modular rotors began to be installed on rakes. During this time, the company attends numerous fairs and demonstrations at home and around the world.
MOWING COMBINATION BIG LASER, 2004
The new mowing combination was equipped with hydropneumatic suspension and ensured better adaptation to the ground.
REBRANDING, 2013
After 2008, a complete renovation of the SIP brand begins. SIP gets a new look in red black, and anthracite in combination, with white inscriptions.
The philosophy of ROBUSTNESS is established, which in one word captures the main properties of machines: durability, efficiency and ease of use.
THE LARGEST GRASSLAND HARVESTING MACHINES IN THE WORLD
SIP is present at all major fairs of agricultural machinery around the world and increases its visibility with quality machine manufacturing.
During this period, it launched professional grassland harvesting machines with a working width of 15 meters.
The SILVERCUT 1500 T mowing combination thus becomes the largest mowing combination in the world.
