The four-rotor rake STAR 1250I50 T with adjustable working width from 9.90 m up to 12.50 m and efficiency up to 18.50 ha/h is a perfect solution for large farms and contractors. The 9.50m long frame design features large 620/40 R22.5 wheels positioned closer to the tractor allowing sharp turns and less compaction on softer terrains. The two-point pivoting linkage offers a large +/- 75° turning angle that allows excellent agility and maneuverability. Ensuring a longer service life, the loads on the rotors’ PTOs are reduced thanks to the combination of special pivoting gearboxes in the front, and the Y-shaped gearbox in the back.
Special mounting of the rotors with innovative cross-shaped hinges allows ±300 mm rotor movement upwards and downwards independently of the chassis. This enables perfect 3D ground tracking, regardless of the chassis position. The spring tines always remain parallel to the ground, ensuring clean swaths at all working speeds and even on rugged terrain.
The modular rotor design, in which each part is individually replaceable, ensures easy maintenance. The heat-treated nodular cast iron cam track is highly resistant to wear. Continuously adjustable cam track with a large diameter of 42 cm ensures smooth raking and creation of evenly shaped swaths. For maximum efficiency in all working conditions the front rotors on the STAR 1250I50 T are equipped each with 12 spring tines arms and the rear rotors each with 13. Robust spring tines arm holders are individually replaceable and mounted into the rotor each with three bolts. The working height of the rotors and spring tines is hydraulically adjustable separate for the front and rear pair of rotors. This enables that the working height is set optimally, the turf remains undamaged during raking, and the swath stays clean, free of soil and sand contamination.
For better ground tracking, all rear rotors are equipped with SIP walking tandems at the front of the rotor and special swivelling wheels at the back, ensuring excellent maneuverability and execution of sharp turns during the work. For even better ground tracking triple walking tandem is available on the rotor chassis allowing for excellent adaptation to terrain and higher working speeds. In this case, all six wheels are positioned close to the spring tines providing maximum rotor stability at higher speeds and on steep terrain. Combination of active hydro-pneumatic suspension, 3D pivoting rotor-mounting and rotors with walking tandems allow the machine to adapt perfectly to terrain without contamination of the forage at all operation speeds.
The rake forms double central swath and is serial equipped with swath curtain. The swath width is adjustable from 1.30 m to 2.20 m. The combination of the optimally adjusted rotor curve and the swath curtain results in evenly shaped trapezoidal swaths that are easy to collect with any kind of pick-up device. The rake curtain additionally prevents forage from intertwining between the rotors and enables smooth raking without losses of leaves thus preserves the nutritional value of the forage.
An electro-hydraulic steering system is all about hassle-free operation for a driver. It features automatic transport folding and unfolding into the working position, working height adjustment of the front and rear pair of the rotors, and separate or partial rotors lifting when turning at the headlands or driving over the swaths.
