Krzysztof Dziechciaronek’s farm, located in Święcko near Kłodzko (Lower Silesia), is a family business run together with his parents and brothers. It deals with both crop production and dairy cattle breeding. The herd consists of 130 dairy cows, and the entire farm covers over 200 ha, where wheat, rapeseed, silage corn and alfalfa are grown, among other things.
In 2023, a decision was made to purchase a modern SIP mowers set, including a DISC HD 1000 D FS double mower with conveyor belt and a SILVERCUT DISC 340 F FC front mower. As Krzysztof Dziechciaronek emphasises, the aim of this investment was not only to improve work efficiency, but also to improve the quality of the silage.
SIP in hilly terrain – a key advantage
The farm that purchased the SIP mowing set is located in the Kłodzko Valley, where picturesque landscapes go hand in hand with demanding terrain conditions. The operation of machinery in an uneven, hilly area requires high power and an appropriate design of the equipment.
“The SIP can handle hilly terrain – the 420 hp tractor has no problem with uphill climbs. With a smaller set, the machine sometimes had difficulties on steep sections, but here everything works flawlessly,” emphasises Krzysztof Dziechciaronek.
The modern SIP mowers have hydraulic suspension and, according to the user, excellent terrain following, which allows for even mowing even on difficult fields. In addition, the set allows for adjusting the mowing width during operation, which facilitates manoeuvring on irregular plots.
“With these mowers, you can really work quickly and efficiently – on a flat meadow, I reach a working speed of 14-16 km/h. This means that I can mow the whole field on the first day and collect the green mass with a forage trailer on the second day. This makes the work go faster and the forage is cleaner and has a better nutritional value,” the farmer points out.

Better silage – higher milk yield
Thanks to the SIP mowing set, the forage quality has improved. Removing the raking stage means less contamination in the silage, which has directly translated into better milk production results. – After changing the mowing system, the ash content in the silage decreased dramatically. There is no more soil, dust or stones. This immediately translates into better digestion and higher milk production – the user believes.
As Krzysztof Dziechciaronek calculates, the investment in new mowers will pay for itself within three years thanks to the increase in milk yield: ‘We were hoping that when the cows were given silage from the second cut, which was weaker, the drop in milk would be 400 litres every two days. That means a loss of 100,000 zlotys a year. Thanks to the better silage from the new SIP mowers, this problem has disappeared,’ he says.
Machine demonstrations – testing under real conditions
One of the important aspects that helped us decide to buy SIP mowers was the opportunity to test the equipment during the agricultural machinery demonstrations organised on the farm. “Last May, we organised a demonstration together with the local Chamber of Agriculture. Several companies came and presented their equipment. We wanted farmers to see the machines in action, not just in a brochure or at a trade fair,” says Krzysztof Dziechciaronek.
During the event, a range of equipment was presented on the farm’s meadows, including mower combinations from various manufacturers, forage harvesters and loader wagons. Organising such demonstrations allows farmers to directly compare equipment and consult with experts. ‘I saw the SIP in action, tested it and was sure it would be a good choice. Besides, we got a really good price,” the farmer explains.
It is worth noting that such events are very popular among local farmers and provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and test modern solutions in a real-life conditions.

Investing on your own terms
On a farm, most purchases are financed with either personal funds or commercial loans. According to the farmer, the procedures associated with EU subsidies are too time-consuming, and the requirements for machinery do not always correspond to the actual needs of the farm.
“If I want to buy equipment that I really need, I’d rather take it on credit and have it right away, instead of waiting for a decision from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture. In the case of the Agency, you have to wait two years, confess for five years, and in the meantime, the equipment will have already earned itself,” assures Krzysztof Dziechciaronek.
Is it worth investing in SIP?
According to Krzysztof Dziechciaronek, the decision to purchase SIP mowers was one of the best investments on the farm. The equipment has significantly streamlined work, improved feed quality and increased the milk yield of the herd.- It was a very good decision. Better quality silage, shorter working time and higher milk yield – it simply pays off.- The farm in Święcko is planning further development, and further investments will be focused on increasing efficiency and further modernisation of the machinery.
