Slovenian grassland harvesting equipment manufacturer SIP has introduced a new generation of the latest SIP DISC HD D mowing combination, aimed at larger farms and service providers. The new product was premiered in the Czech Republic at the CASE DEN event in Kámno and at the Our Fields event in Nabočany.
The new SIP DISC HD D mowing combination with belts and telescopic working width adjustment features a sophisticated drive system with an integrated load monitoring system (OMS) for warning in case of machine overload.
The SIP DISC HD D rear mower combination, in combination with a suitable front mower, achieves a working width of 9.20 to 10.20 metres. Even at this working width, the machine offers a compact transport size. The telescopic arms allow the overlap to be adjusted according to the width of the front mower: from 3 to 3.5 m. They also help the operator to control the overlap of the mowing units when mowing in a bend, when avoiding an obstacle, and when mowing on a slope. They can also be used to adjust the width of the swath from 1.8 to 3.5 m.
There are different types of conditioners to choose from. In fields where mainly grass and clover mixtures are grown, a conditioner with a flexible metal or rigidly mounted plastic fingers is recommended. However, in fields growing mixtures of lucerne and clover, a rubber roller conditioner with two profiled rollers can be used, which does not damage the sensitive leaves of the plants.
When using a conditioner, the SIP DISC HD D can be equipped with belts to speed up harvesting and reduce dry matter loss and ash input to the forage. The belts are fitted with plastic slats and are driven by tractor hydraulics and a hydraulic motor. The belts can be used to form a row up to 3,5 m wide. The width of the swath can also be adjusted to the working width of the harvester pick-up unit or the pick-up trailer. The belts can be raised or lowered together or independently during mowing. When lifting, the drive automatically stops.
The Czech distributor of SIP machines is AGRI CS, which, through its subsidiaries and business partners, presents and sells the machines to customers throughout the Czech Republic. The popularity of SIP machines in the Czech market is also proven by the sale of a large number of machines to new owners over the years.
