The main product range of SIP, Slovenia’s largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery, is grassland harvesting machinery. They are characterised by their robust design and at the same time tailored to the special needs of users from different agricultural segments. From the smallest mountain farms and small farms in transition areas to larger farms and large agricultural companies and service providers who need high-performance machines with larger working widths.

In addition to the grassland cutting and harvesting program, ORION manure spreaders are included in the product range. The traditional SIP manure spreaders are recognised and appreciated for their ease of operation and maintenance and their long service life. They are suitable for small farms as well as larger agricultural operations. They are characterised by an even and precise spread over the entire working width.

The spreaders are designed for two main user segments, smaller mountain farms with more challenging terrain and larger agricultural operations in flat areas.

Recognised for their quality and long-lasting performance

Manure preaders ORION ALP are designed to work on slopes and in the tougher mountainous conditions that mountain farms have to face. Thanks to the wide track with low centre of gravity and the V-shaped chassis, they are stable on sloping terrain. Depending on the specific terrain, several different wheel types and profiles are available as part of the obligatory equipment at the time of purchase. The SIP painting process is also adapted to the characteristics of the cargo material. These include various treatment steps such as sandblasting, chemical washing, pre-heating and powder coating, which ultimately ensure a long-lasting paint finish without rusting or flaking.

The ORION ALP family includes four models of manure spreaders.

The smallest model with basic equipment

The ORION A 35 ALP, with a total weight of 3.5 t, is the smallest and most basic spreader model. The spreader with mechanical rear protection consists of two upright spreading beaters with removable segments made of anti-wear material. The speed of the mechanical scraper floor is adjustable in several stages to achieve optimum spreading. The drive is provided by two 8 x 31 mm chains. The sides are made of steel and are removable. The drawbar is fixed to the lower coupling and is adjustable for different tractor coupling heights. It can be swivelled (available as an option) and a wide-angle universal joint is also available as an option.

Comfortable use on mountain farms

The model ORION A 40 ALP offers more equipment, making it easier to use. This 4.0 t manure spreader also has a wide track, low centre of gravity and a V-shaped chassis, giving it exceptional stability on sloping terrain. The spreader with hydraulic lifting of spreading unit protection is driven via a cardan shaft. It is equipped with two newly designed vertical beaters, positioned lower and closer to the scraper floor.

The manure is spreaded by a continuously variable hydraulic drive of the scraper floor chain conveyor. The conveyor speed is also adjustable. The drive consists of two strong 10 x 31 mm chains. Like all larger models, the ORION A 40 ALP is equipped with the Automatic Chain Tensioning (ACT) system and central lubrication of front and rear sprocket drive.

The load capacity of this manoeuvrable spreader is between 2620 kg and 2840 kg. For loading larger volumes of material, it can be additionally equipped with 50 cm high folding side rollers. The universal coupling with 41 mm drawbar allows the option of lower or upper coupling to the tractor. Also available as an option is the ⏀40 swivel coupling or the K80 ball coupling (for the lower coupling) and the wide-angle PTO shaft. Air or hydraulic brakes and road safety equipment are also available.

Several different wheel types and profiles are available depending on the specific terrain of the user. They are selected as part of the obligatory equipment when the machine is purchased. Depending on the width of the wheels, the transport width varies between 1.91 and 2.22 m. The maximum transport height is 2.30 m. As an optional equipment, hydraulic manure dosing wall is also available. To operate the spreader, 1x single-acting (1SA) and 1x double-acting (1DA) hydraulic connections are required. In case of hydraulic manure dosing wall, additionally 1x double-acting (1DA) connection is required.

Agile and useful for working on the slopes

The manure spreader ORION A 50 ALP spreader, which has a total weight of 5.0 tonnes, also has a low centre of gravity and a V-shaped chassis to ensure manoeuvrability and stability on slopes and steep terrain. Designed to work in difficult conditions, it also integrates a special braking axle that allows for higher loads. The spreader is equipped with four vertical spreading beaters on which easily replaceable, wear-resistant spreading segments are mounted.

The spreader has a load capacity of between 3280 kg and 3680 kg. For loading larger volumes of material, it can be additionally equipped with 50 cm high folding sides to increase the loading volume from 2.6 to 5.2 m3. This spreader requires a minimum tractor power of 29kW/ 40HP, but is best used with tractors above 45kW/60HP. The scraper floor chain conveyor, with its two strong 10 x 31 mm chains, is driven by a continuously variable hydraulic drive. The speed of the conveyor can also be adjusted.

The universal coupling with a 41 mm drawbar allows the option of lower or upper coupling to the tractor. A swivel coupling ⏀40 or, in the case of the lower coupling, a towing eye – ball K80 is also available as an option. A wide-angle PTO shaft is already included as standard on this model. Air or hydraulic brakes and road safety equipment are also available. Several different types and profiles of wheels are offered as part of the mandatory equipment when ordering the machine, allowing the machine to be adapted to specific needs. The transport width of the spreader is 2.70 m and the maximum transport height is 2.30 m.

As an optional equipment, a hydraulic manure dosing wall is also available. It is easily removable and allows the spreader to be used for the transport of other materials. To operate the spreader, 1x single-acting (1SA) and 1x double-acting (1DA) hydraulic connections are required. For the hydraulic manure dosing wall there is an additional 1x double acting (1DA) connection.

Higher load capacity for working on a slope

The largest model in the ALP line is the ORION A 70 ALP. It has a total weight of 7.0 tonnes. The manure spreader is characterised by its higher capacity, high durability and ease of use. It is available as a conventional spreader or a spreader with a lower centre of gravity. The lower centre of gravity and V-shaped chassis ensure manoeuvrability and stability when working on an incline. The special braking axle also ensures that the machine can be used under heavy loads. The spreader is equipped with four vertical spreading beaters on which easily replaceable, wear-resistant spreading segments are mounted. The specially shaped blades of the spreading beaters ensure an even and fine spread, while the negative angle of the spreader of up to 7° allows a more even and wider distribution of the material.

For loading larger volumes of material, the spreader can be additionally equipped with folding full sides and mesh sides with a height of 50 cm each. The loading volume is thus increased from 3.9 to 8.5 m3. The load capacity of the spreader is therefore between 4650kg and 5090kg. The model has a minimum tractor power of 50kW/ 70HP. Perfect control over the amount of manure spread is ensured by the stepless control of the hydraulic scraper floor drive. The latter consists of two strong 11 x 31 mm chains.

On the conventional wheel axle version, the universal coupling with 41 mm drawbar allows a choice of lower or upper coupling to the tractor. In this case, a pick-up drawbar Ø=50 or a K80 ball drawbar are available as options. Also available as an option is an ALU board for marking slow vehicles up to 40 km/h. The version with a lower centre of gravity already includes an upper hitch and a wide wheel axle. Road safety eqipment is also included on this version. Both versions have several different types and profiles of wheels to choose from as part of the obligatory equipment.

Air or hydraulic brakes are available. Driving with a loaded spreader is safer with an emergency brake. Depending on the wheels, the maximum transport width of a conventional spreader is 2.70m and the maximum transport height is 2.30m. The maximum transport width of a wide-track spreader is 2.70m. The maximum transport height is 2.50m. As an optional equipment, a hydraulic manure dosing wall is available for both models. It is easily removable and allows the spreader to be used as a trailer. A hydraulic support leg is also available, allowing the machine to be easily unhooked. To operate the spreader, 1x single-acting (1SA) and 1x double-acting (1DA) hydraulic connections are required. In the case of hydraulic manure dosing wall and hydraulic lifting of the leg, two additional 1x double-acting (1DA) connections are required.
