With their robust design and high performance, SIP disc mowers SILVERCUT DISC ensure precise mowing even in the toughest conditions, without introducing soil and sand into the forage. SIP offers different models of disc mowers, available in several versions and with equipment to meet the needs of even the most demanding users.
Cutter bar for long-lasting use
The mowers in the ROBUST line are equipped with cutter bars with specially shaped discs made of highly wear-resistant 4 mm thick steel. These ensure excellent forage flow and long-lasting use. The disc drive axle is rigidly fixed to the cutter bar via a double sealed bearing, which makes it possible to withstand higher loads, thus guaranteeing a long service life of the cutter bar. The SILVERCUT DISC cutter bar is protected against overloading by the DDSS (Disc Drive Safety System). This system consists of an intermediate flange with four brass pins that break in the event of overloading, thus preventing damage to the other elements. Replacing the pins is quick and easy and represents a minimal cost for the user.
All mowers are equipped as standard with the QCS (Quick Change System), which also includes a spring holder that retracts in the event of the blade hitting an obstacle, thus preventing damage or breakage of the blades.
The skids are made of anti-wear steel, cold-formed. The special design of the skids with a large contact surface, protects the cutter bar and diverts dirt under the cutter bar, thus reducing forage contamination. All mower models are equipped with additional central skids as standard.

Specialised for different types of grassland
SIP’s SILVERCUT DISC mowers are available without or with three different types of conditioners. The use of a conditioner results in faster wilting or drying, thus preserving nutrients and ensuring better forage quality. The shorter drying time reduces the risk of bad weather and shortens the time needed to harvest the forage. SIP offers two different types of finger-type conditioners and a roller rubber conditioner.
The finger conditioner with plastic (FPC) or steel (FSC) fingers damages the cuticle of the leaves and stems and breaks the stems, allowing faster moisture loss. During conditioning, it lifts the grass and creates an airy row behind the mower. The rigid plastic fingers abrade and damage the cuticle of the stems and leaves and break the stems. Flexible steel fingers damage, break and “shred” the stems, allowing even more rapid moisture loss compared to plastic fingers. Both types of conditioners are equipped with the possibility of adjusting the intensity of conditioning.
The roller rubber conditioner (RRC) compresses the stems and opens them lengthwise, allowing rapid moisture loss. The use of the roller rubber conditiner is recommended for alfalfa and clover because it does not damage the delicate leaves. The infinitely variable conditioning intensity adjustment system regulates the pressure of the rollers according to the amount and type of forage being cut.

Variety of mowers for specific user needs
SIP’s ROBUST line offers a diverse range of disc mowers, from front and side mowers with or without conditioners to mower combinations with larger working widths.
SILVERCUT DISC F front mowers
Central mounted front disc mowers are perfectly adapt to the ground and allow even and fast mowing. The front mowers without conditioners have working widths of 3.0m, 3.40m and 3.80m. Models with conditioners are available in 3.0m and 3.40m working widths.
The front mowers allow four types of tractor couplings. There is a conventional pushed hitch with mechanical relief, which allows the mower to be pressed evenly against the ground. The conventional pushed hitch with hydro-pneumatic suspension offers a better response to changes in the ground.
Two other types of flexible S-FLOW hitch are available giving the pulled effect. The lightweight version of the S-FLOW hitch is suitable for lighter front mowers such as models with no or with a plastic finger conditioner. The “heavier” version S-FLOW II hitch is recommended for more powerful tractors and slightly heavier front mowers such as models with steel finger and roller rubber conditioners.
The S-FLOW linkage with its hydro-pneumatic suspension system makes the mower extremely responsive to changes in the ground. The up and down movement of the mower is thus in the range of -6° to +14° and the lateral movement of the mower is in the range of 28°.

SILVERCUT DISC S side mowers
Centre-mounted side disc mowers with hydropneumatic suspension system enable an even and efficient mowing. The side disc mowers without conditioner allow working widths of 3.0m, 3.40m and 3.80m. Models with finger conditioners are available in 3.0m and 3.40m working widths, while models with roller rubber conditioner are available in 2.7m, 3.0m and 4.40m working widths. For side mower combinations, working widths of 5.60m and 6.30m are available.
The central bearing construction of the SILVERCUT DISC S ensures high rigidity and optimum power transmission. The mower follows the ground perfectly, allowing excellent visibility and full control of the mowing operation, whatever the terrain.
The mower is driven by direct drive via a PTO shaft, an angle drive and a double-jointed PTO.
The hydraulic stabilisation of the cutter bar allows Sequential Lift (SL). The inner part of the cutter bar is lifted first, followed by the outer part.
The Collision Safety System (CSS) also protects the cutter bar and the mower. The CSS safety guard opens instantly in the event of a collision. Due to the special position of the hinge, the cutter bar is free to retreat backwards and upwards at the same time. Then it automatically returns to its working position.
The linkage with a safety transport system, separate from the block for partial lift, allows the machine to be manoeuvrable when traversing and turning at the edges of plots.
The transport position of the cutter bar is 120° behind the tractor. In the same position, it is also possible to store it on a stand (optional accessory) in an area of only 3.2m2.

SILVERCUT DISC C mower combinations
Mowing combinations offer high efficiency and low maintenance costs, making them suitable for larger farms and service providers. With a working width of 9 or 10 m and a capacity of up to 15 ha/h, the SILVERCUT DISC F front mower and SILVERCUT DISC C mowers combination offers high productivity.
The SILVERCUT DISC C mower combination models feature a linkage with a higher positioning of the arm protection system, which is also separate from the partial lift block for passages at the edges of plots. Two types of linkage are available which, in combination with the front mower, provide optimum coverage. The narrow linkage has a distance between the cutter bars of 2.06 m and is suitable for front mowers up to and including 3.0 m working width. The wide linkage, on the other hand, has a distance between the cutter bars of 2.80 m and is designed for front mowers larger than 3.0 m.
The two cutter bars are centrally mounted. They are driven directly via a cardan shaft, an angle drive and a double cardan joint to the first disc.
The Hydro-pneumatic Suspension (HPS) of the cutter bar and the sophisticated kinematics ensure excellent ground adaptation within a range of 35° upwards and 15° downwards. The hydraulic stabilisation allows the cutter bar to be raised sequentially. The inner part is raised first, followed by the outer part. This prevents damage to the cutter bar and the turf.
