SPIDER 915|8 is the latest model from the ROBUST line of rotary tedders designed for medium-sized farms and contractors. The tedder with eight rotors ensures an even spreading of the forage and with a working width of 9.15 m offers the highest performance in its class.
The innovative design of the tedding system spread the forage evenly and keeps it clean while the turf remains undamaged. The tedding angle can be adjusted according to the amount of mown forage from 11° to 19°. With a rotor diameter of 1.6 m, the tedder evenly follows the ground contours and enables optimal spreading and tedding.
The reinforced rotor plate made of 4 mm thick steel has tine arms made of round tubes. Tines of different lengths, where the inner tine is shorter than the outer tine, are robustly attached onto the tine arms equipped with safety guards against broken tine loss to prevent any damaged parts from entering the forage. A faster, even and more effective spreading and tedding of dense and heavy grass can be ensured by the installation of hook tines, that enable multiple layers tedding.
The rotors are connected to the round axle in the form of a thick-walled tube. A robustly designed casing and joint of the rotor drive ensure stability even under heavy loads. With larger size of the wheels on the rotors weight is evenly distributed and the pressure onto the ground is reduced. A flexible three-point hitch with stabilisers enables it to smoothly follow the tractor. Using the jockey wheel gives the tedder even better tracking to the ground and enable that the working depth is always set correctly.
The tedder’s standard equipment features a hydraulic system of steering the wheels to the left or right and enables a side shift of the machine. This system helps while working alongside of the borders and prevents spreading the forage outside of the field and losses of the forage. The SMART LIFT system raises and automatically locks the outer rotors when turning the machine at the headlands and keeps them at a sufficient distance from the ground so that the tedder does not scrape the ground.
In addition to the main rotor drive, a safety clutch is fitted to the machine to protect the machine from overloading and prevent malfunctions. The outer rotor folding mechanism, combined with the finger clutch, allows an 180° folding into a compact transport position.
Despite the large working width, the tedder is lightweight enough to connect to a tractor with 80 HP. SPIDER 915|8 is agile and easy to use, while ensuring high productivity and efficiency when tedding. With a working width of 9.15 m, the tedder can spread 5 windrows of a mower with five discs or 3 windrows of a mower with 8 discs, ensuring fast work and wilting, which is crucial for the preservation of nutrients in the forage.
