At the AGROTECH agricultural technology fair in Kielce, Poland, we announced the SIP ambassador in March 2023. The new SIP ambassador in Poland is Jacek Kalak from GR Kalak in southern Poland.

He was impressed by SIP machines, so he decided to colour his entire line of grass harvesting machines in SIP colours. He was also happy to join us in filming video content and presenting a day on his farm together with SIP machines.

Family farm with intensive milk production

Jacek Kalak, together with his wife and children, runs a large farm in the village of Gorzupia, located in the Wielkopolskie Province. They are involved in milk production and use the most advanced agricultural technologies in their farming. Together, they raise 320 head of cattle, including around 270 dairy cows, which are housed in modern, animal-friendly barns. The farm cultivates around 500 hectares of land, of which 130 hectares are used for growing cereals, mainly barley and wheat, while the rest is used for grass and corn silage and alfalfa. Each year, they harvest four times and produce around 4,000 tons of grass silage and 1,000 tons of alfalfa. Most of the forage produced is used to feed their own livestock.

In 2023, the Kalak farm decided to purchase a SIP mower combination with belts, DISC HD 1000 D, and a front mower with S-FLOW hitch and steel finger conditioner SILVERCUT DISC 340 F FSC. Impressed by the mower combination and the robustness of SIP grassland harvesting machines, he decided to upgrade the entire grass harvesting line with SIP machines in the coming years. The mower combination was thus joined by a 13.0 m rotary tedder SPIDER HD 1300|12 T, and he wants to complete the line with an AIR HD 900 T pick-up rake.

First-hand SIP experience

He was pleasantly surprised by the simplicity of SIP technologies, which enable long-term use. He is also satisfied with SIP’s after-sales support and 3-year warranty, which he will gladly share with his acquaintances and friends.

“Depending on the density of the grass, we can mow between 50 and 90 hectares per day. We work with a working width of approximately 9.7 meters, at a speed of 10 to 12 km/h, sometimes even up to 20 km/h. Mowing efficiency is very high, especially on large fields where you don’t have to turn often,” Jacek Kalak told us about mowing with the DISC HD D mower combination.
