In 2026, SIP is expanding the STAR side rakes range with two new models, the R 640|22 TS and the R 760|22 TS. The new trailed double-rotor side rakes are designed for clean forage raking, good ground adaptation and easy transport. The new SIP side rakes are designed for smaller and medium-sized farms with fragmented plots and for working on slopes.
The smallest model STAR R 640|22 TS offers a fixed working width of 6.38 m and the option of forming a single swath on the right side. The slightly larger model, the STAR R 760|22 TS, offers hydraulic adjustment of the working width from 6.38 m to 7.60 m. With the use of an additional swath curtain, two swaths can be formed. This allows the size of the swaths to be adjusted to different slopes and volumes of mowed forage.
Robust hitch and reliable driveline system
Both new models of SIP STAR side rakes are equipped with a two-point flexible hitch cat. II. The hitch is extremely manoeuvrable as it allows a turning angle of ± 77.5° or 155°, thus ensuring easy handling in the field and perfect tractor tracking.
The smaller angles on the PTO shafts ensure long service life. The driveline consists of a wide-jointed input PTO shaft, two gears and an integrated free-running clutch for smooth stopping of the machine.
On the STAR R 760|22 TS, 1x single-acting (1xSA) and 1x double-acting (1xDA) hydraulic connections are required for hydraulic lifting of the rotors and adjustment of the working width. And for the STAR R 640|22 TS, 1x single-acting (1xSA) hydraulic connection for hydraulic lifting of the rotors. Disposal of the hydraulic connections is clean and simple.

Excellent ground adaptation
As with all SIP STAR rakes, 3D rotor mounting combined with tandem chassis allows for excellent ground adaptation. Tandem wheels on the front and on the rear chassis are available, as well as tandem wheels on the front and single wheels on the rear chassis.
Working height adjustment is mechanical on both models, and precision adjustment is made possible by a convenient scale on the underside of the rotor. Mechanical spring relief is available as optional equipment to optimise rotor suspension when working on softer terrain.

Raking adapted to the harvesting conditions
The mechanical rear swath curtain on both models allows the width of the swath to be adjusted from 0.6-1.35 m. When using the swath curtain, the stabilisation of the rotor is further improved by a spring system. Hydraulic folding or rear curtain is available as optional equipment, requiring 1x double-way (1DW) hydraulic connection and a valve. On the larger model, valve and controler are available as an option.
For STAR R 760|22 TS, an additional mechanical swath curtain on the front rotor is available for the possibility of forming two swaths. The working width adjustment on this model is also hydraulic.
High partial lift position allow easy passage over the swaths. The minimum rotor lift in the partial lift is 500 mm for single swath and up to 700 mm for double swath. The machine is also equipped with a valve for adjusting the rear rotor lift delay to adapt the operation to different working conditions.

Easy transport and maintenance
The new SIP STAR side rakes weight 2200 and 2300 kg and require a minimum tractor power of 40 kW/55 HP to operate.
The machines are manoeuvrable and easy to transport with a transport width of 2.5 m. The locking of the rotors in the transport position is mechanical via rope and hooks. Even with the spring tines arms fitted, the machine do not exceed 4 m in height.
The high rear axle of the transport frame offers more room for manoeuvre when crossing over swaths. For greater stability when working on an incline, weights are fitted as standard on the left wheel.
The open and easily accessible steering mechanism and the reduced number of lubrication points on the rotors also make maintenance quick and easy.
